PAY PER PHEW AS £15 FEE DROPPED

- By ANDY MILLOM

FOOTBALL fans are celebrating after the Premier League ditched its pay- per- view matches.

The sport’s rulers have confirmed that ALL games will be on the box until the New Year — and included in usual Sky and BT Sport packages.

And in even better news, some games will be shown totally free on BBC and Amazon Prime as they were during the first lockdown.

Lots of supporters were furious at having to shell out £ 14.95 to watch extra matches that were not originally going to be televised.

It means the Christmas and New Year clashes will be included so there will be wall- to- wall footy on the box over the festive season.

The first totally free game will be Fulham against Everton on Sunday, November 22 on BBC One.

Amazon will show Crystal Palace v Man United free on Friday, November 27.

Not all the games will be on at different times though.

Amazon Prime will show eight fixtures on Tuesday, December 15 with all the games kicking off at 7.45pm.

The Liverpool v Spurs game and Man City v West Brom on December 16 will both kick off at 8pm with the streaming service showing both.

It’s the same deal on Monday, December 28 when Amazon shows all ten matches at 3pm.

Everton v Man City, Man United v Wolves and Newcastle v Liverpool are the highlights.

No decision has been made on whether the measures will continue beyond the end of January.

A Premier League statement said: “There is a full schedule of

Premier League games

over the festive period and clubs are committed to an accessible solution for fans. These plans have been made with the cooperation of our broadcast partners, to deliver these additional matches while stadiums are missing supporters who are such an integral part of the game.

“The agreement will be reviewed in the new year after consultation with clubs, broadcast partners and in line with any decisions made by Government regarding the return of spectators.

“The Premier League and our clubs remain committed to the safe return of fans as soon as possible.”
