COP WHO SHAGGED POLICE DOG CAGED FOR 20 YEARS
A FORMER cop accused of filming himself repeatedly sexually abusing his dog has been jailed for 20 years.
Terry Yetman, 41, of Minden, Louisiana, pleaded guilty in August to five counts of sexual abuse of an animal. Each charge carries four years in prison to run consecutively.
Yetman, who was a police officer in Bossier City, Louisiana, at the time of his arrest, is also required to register as a sex offender.
Dozens of other charges against him have been dropped as part of his plea agreement with prosecutors.
Yetman was initially arrested in December 2018 and charged with 40 counts of sexually abusing his dog, identified as a Belgian Malinois named Boss.
The retired police dog was confiscated by authorities and placed in an animal rescue in Texas.
Yetman, who once worked as a dog handler, was identified through an investigation targeting another former law enforcement officer.
Yetman joined the state’s Bossier City Police Department in 2014. Before that, he had worked at other nearby law enforcement agencies.
Just two months before his arrest, Yetman was honoured for his “outstanding effort over the year to champion the protective rights of domestic violence victims and their families”, according to the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office.
He was a recipient of the 2018 Trey Hutchison Award, which is named in honour of a Bossier City cop killed in August 2004 as he responded to a domestic violence call.
While under investigation, Yetman was placed on administrative leave in November 2018 and was later thrown out of the force.
He has been in the Bossier County Detention Centre since his arrest.
Yetman was also found guilty of possessing illegal pornography and sentenced to 20 years in prison for that, to run concurrently with the dog sex abuse sentence.
A source said: “A hound- screwing former cop? He’s gonna have fun in jail, ain’t he? That’ll feel like a very long 20 years.”
