Dog lover ‘ saves’ toy

ANIMAL rights activist Sid Brewer hurled a brick through a car window to save a “distressed” dog locked inside… only to find it was a STUFFED animal!

Sid, 53, sprang into action when he spotted the pooch in the Vauxhall Nova parked in Crewe, Cheshire, as temperatures soared into the 90s last Wednesday.

He said: “I’ve done it before during hot spells and I’ll do it again. When I see a dog – or any animal – in distress, I act.

“Unfortunately, in this case the dog turned out to be a stuffed toy. But it looked realistic. Just after I smashed the window, the car’s owner turned up.

“He was not best pleased, put it that way. But we had a laugh, when I’d stopped bleeding.”
