Shark cops think that some fin’s up
A COMPUTER whizz caused a panic when he posted a snap on social media that appeared to show a SHARK in a picture- postcard lake.
Gerald Herrmann, 54, posted the images of the Mondsee Lake, near Salzburg, Austria, with the shark’s fin cutting through the surface.
When news of the image reached people paddling in the lake via mobile phones, hundreds fled from the water screaming.
Sharpshooters armed with poison- tipped bullets took to the water on speedboats while a police helicopter also arrived.
When authorities tracked down Hermann, he admitted to creating the image using image manipulation software.
Local fish expert Josef Wanzenboeck scoffed: “Didn’t anyone think it unlikely a shark could end up in an Austrian mountain lake?”
