Grub makers grab attention
TUESDAY with SIMON DEAN
NEW series. Gregg Wallace and Cherry Healey return with the series shedding light on how some of Britain’s biggest factories produce the nation’s favourite foods.
Gregg begins by receiving a boat- load of corn fresh from Argentina, and witnesses as it is cooked, milled and flavoured to become a top- selling cereal brand.
Bet they don’t tell you how chicken nuggets or value burgers are made. That said, don’t think I want to know. SEE how ITV manage to churn out 24 hours of television for utter buttons. In tonight’s episode we see how a once- great TV channel spews out an hour of dodgy mobile phone and camcorder footage and labels it “entertainment”.
Jamie Theakston narrates a selection of clips submitted by members of the public, which display in cringe- worthy detail some of the many things that can go wrong while away on holiday. In this first edition, a walk in the woods becomes a fight for survival, one fella wrestles sharks, and a holiday- maker ruins all his once- in- a- lifetime snaps. AFTER 12 years off our screens, a new series. Dara O’Briain ( yes, him again) and Angela Scanlon host the revival of the series in which radio- controlled robots created by teams of amateur engineers battle it out in an arena.
The machines have to make it through an initial group stage, then battle in head- to- head rounds before the heat final.
The first show features students from Reading and a family team from Caithness, as well as a memorable robot from the original series.
