On job with the toughest

TUESDAY with SIMON DEAN

-

9pm – BBC1,

WELL, we’ve had all the police fly- on- the- wall docs we can stomach – so now it’s the turn of the ambulance service.

Tonight’s opening episode shows the dilemmas faced by the London Ambulance Service as they are forced to bump patients down the queue so they can prioritise the sickest and deal with time- wasters.

By 11am, seven cardiac arrests have already come in, and now there are two more people fighting for their lives.

And you thought you had a tough job! PART two of this excellent drama, inspired by recent arrests and trials of celebrities over sex allegations.

Paul ( Robbie Coltrane on top form) and his family have to deal with the pressure of mounting allegations against him, and Dee confronts her former babysitter, Christina, now one of the star’s accusers.

Marie is rattled to discover she was away on the nights Paul is accused of assaulting her, and the accused gives a radio interview, determined to put his side of the story.

Also stars Julie Walters. TWO crafty British soldiers in 19th- century India travel to an unexplored land, where one of them fools the natives into believing he is a god.

His delusions of grandeur, however, put him at loggerheads with his comrade- in- arms.

Good, old- fashioned British Empire adventure based on the Rudyard Kipling story, directed by John Huston, starring Sean Connery, Michael Caine, Saeed Jaffrey, Christopher Plummer and Shakira Caine.

Stirring tunes make for a truly memorable film.
