Town Hall’s ‘ ghost’ sparks calls to bring in an exorcist
THE mayor of a small town is facing calls to bring in an exorcist after workers became convinced that the council offices were haunted.
A councillor was working late in the town hall when the air suddenly turned cold and he saw the ghost of a small child.
A fellow councillor went to collect the terrified colleague and take him home.
Leandro Martín, the mayor of Vegas del Genil, Spain, initially dismissed the whole thing as a joke but the next day other council staff started to complain about the “inexplicable cold in a particular corridor” and a mechanic was even called in to check the heating.
The mayor said he has been inundated by requests from the residents to call in a priest to conduct an exorcism.
But he insists that “earthly matters” remain his priority, adding: “How can I justify hiring a medium when I have residents without electricity?”
