TRUMP APPOINTS STEVEN SEAGAL AS NEW FBI CHIEF!

- By BRAD CHADWICK

THERE were renewed fears for President Trump’s state of mind last night after it emerged he’s attempting to make Hollywood hardman STEVEN SEAGAL the new boss of the FBI.

The move is especially provocative and it heightens fears about Trump’s links to Moscow because last year Seagal was made a RUSSIAN citizen by Vladimir Putin.

The FBI post was left vacant when Trump summarily sacked former Director James Comey. The President said Comey was dismissed for his mishandling of an investigation into Hillary Clinton keeping secret emails on her personal computer.

But many in Washington believe Director Comey was sacked because he was heading an investigation into Trump’s uncomfortably close links to the Putin regime.

Wits

The appointment of Seagal – star of action movies such as Under Siege and Flight of Fury – to the top law- enforcement post in the USA has led to concerns that the President is close to losing his wits.

A White House source said: “When the President suggested he was going to make Steven Seagal Director of the FBI several people laughed, but then they realised the President does not have a sense of humour.

“When the full horror of what he was suggesting sank in there was a stunned silence. Seagal’s a Russian citizen, for God’s sake! He would be in charge of counter- espionage.

“We’re just hoping that the President forgets the whole thing, otherwise it will be up to the Senate who could refuse to confirm the appointment. If it gets that far, the United States would become a laughing stock.”

The FBI is currently being led by Acting Director Andrew McCabe, a former Deputy Director of the Bureau and a man who was widely- tipped to take over the top job, before the Seagal spanner was thrown in the works.

Last year President Putin signed a decree making Seagal a Russian. Seagal is friends with Mr Putin, who he has described as “one of the greatest world leaders”.

Mr Putin’s spokesman said at the time that Seagal, whose granny was from Vladivostok, was known for his feelings towards Russia and his status as a famous actor was a reason to make him a citizen.
