A SQUADDIE is fighting for his life after comrades shoved a BAT up his ARSE and sewed his ringpiece closed, as part of a bizarre initiation ceremony.

The 20- year- old, who had just won a place in an elite special forces unit, suffered internal bleeding as the still- alive flying mammal gnawed at his colon from the inside.

After four agonising hours, medics were finally called and the soldier was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

It is believed that he is also now undergoing treatment for RABIES.

The incident, at a barracks in Pancevo, Serbia, had re- ignited a debate about dangerous or degrading initiation ceremonies in the Serbian Army.
