Missing pet tortoise takes 10yrs to hurry back home!

ANIMAL lover Joyce Watson is celebrating after her pet tortoise arrived home – 10 YEARS after going missing.

Joyce, 48, spent a “small fortune” on putting up missing posters back in 2007, after Mr Shell went walkabout and never came home.

The divorced mum- of- three said: “I was convinced that the first winter would see him off and I resigned myself to not seeing Mr Shell again.”

But the slow- moving reptile came back on Thursday and almost got RUN OVER!

Joyce said: “I was turning my car into the drive and saw a shape on the gravel.

“Something made me slam my brakes on – and now I’m so glad that I did!

“There was Mr Shell, after all this time.

“I’ve no idea where he’s been or how he got through the winters.

“I suppose I’ll never know… tortoises can’t talk, you see.”
