KILLER’S DRUG-FUELLED SEX CLAIM

A MAN who claimed his girlfriend accidentally hit her head and died while they had drug- fuelled sex in the shower has been jailed for 50 years for her murder.

Jason Lowe, 28, told jurors that he and Jessie Bardwell, 27, had been taking the mind- altering drug GHB before romping in the shower, where she fell and struck her head twice.

He testified that they decided to lie down after the fall but, when he woke up, his girlfriend was dead next to him.

“I should have called the police,” Lowe told the court, adding that he “was scared” and “really made things worse” by putting Jessie’s body in his Audi and later leaving it on a rural property near Dallas last year.

Prosecutors said they didn’t believe Lowe’s version of events, especially as he waited more than 16 months to share it in court.

Jessie’s body was too decomposed for the medical examiner to determine how she died, but her cause of death was listed as homicidal violence.
