Boar hunter guns down sniffly OAP
A HUNTER shot and killed an elderly man suffering with a cold – after he mistook the codger’s sniffling for the snuffling of a WILD BOAR!
The unnamed hunter, who is in his 30s, fired three times at an object he saw moving in a wood in Seillons-Source-d’Argent in southern France.
But the target turned out to be an OAP in his 70s who had been battling a head cold.
The hunter was taken into police custody and breathalysed but the test showed he had not been drinking alcohol.
Ivan Auriel, a local prosecutor, said: “We are currently trying to find out what exactly happened.
“We have not so far determined what the real intentions of the killer were.”
Police have opened an investigation into the death.
