‘ Footie with head’ Mafia boss arrests

A MAFIA boss played football with the HEAD of a decapitated rival, says an ex- member of the organised crime group.

And the allegations have prompted a major operation, with 10 people arrested and hundreds of vehicles and dozens of properties searched.

Gennaro Notturno, a former member of the Naples- based Camorra clan, spoke to cops about one of the deadliest mafia feuds, between two rival groups back in the early 2000s.

Notturno was part of a group which broke away from the Camorra and tried to assert control over drugs trade and prostitution in the suburbs of Naples.

He said members of his clan shot dead their rival Antonio Ruggiero, before cutting off his head using a hacksaw.

The mafia boss threw the head on the ground and “started playing football with it” while laughing, though other members of the clan were vomiting.
