‘ Kidnapped’ girl wanted cash off dad
A YOUNG woman faked her own kidnapping to try and get £ 400 in ransom money from her dad.
Abbygail Farley ( 19, was reported missing by her father, Mark, last Monday.
On Tuesday, Mark received a text messages from her alleged kidnappers who asked for a ransom of about £ 400.
Police spokesman Coy Wilson said: “The father said he was receiving messages from her phone saying she had been abducted for money because she owed some money.”
The alleged abductors then gave Farley’s dad a drop- off location in Corbin, Kentucky, to leave the money.
That’s when he contacted authorities.
After her dad dropped off the money, police pinged Farley’s phone and discovered she had sent the ransom notes to her father.
“We think she has a drug problem and that was the reason behind all of this,” Wilson said.
Farley was charged with falsely reporting an incident, theft by extortion, theft and disorderly conduct. – Jack Whitehall
