Ashbrooke left red-faced by Redcar

SECOND-PLACED Redcar thrashed Ashbrooke Belford House 8-1.

Two goals from Andrew Jennings, including his 100th in two seasons, gave them a 2-0 lead and Adam Preston scored to make it three, Anthony Jones adding the fourth just before halftime.

Brian Stewart made it five before David Scott replied for Ashbrooke. With five minutes left, Andrew Jennings scored his hat-trick, two late goals from Sam Webster completing the rout.

Richmond Town, in third, lost 2-0 at home to Prudhoe Town. Liam Henderson gave Prudhoe the lead, the second coming in the 85th minute through Jack Barker.

Silksworth remain fourth with an excellent 4-0 away win at Coxhoe Athletic. Stephen Moody opened the scoring on 18 minutes and James Cook added the second on 56 minutes. With five minutes to go, Moody scored his second with a tap-in and Cook fired in his second in the 89th minute.

Boldon CA remain fifth with a 1-0 win at Windscale. The crucial goal came in the 24th minute when Adam Bell intercepte­d a pass-back and rounded goalkeeper James Dolan.

Hartlepool left it late to beat South Shields Reserves 1-0. Matty Gardner’s first effort was blocked but the ball came back to him and he forced it home for the winner.

Sunderland West End beat Gateshead Leam Rangers 5-4 after being 2-0 down through Nathan Daley’s double strike.

Jordan Cook reduced the deficit to 2-1 and then two goals from Lee Smith gave West End the lead. Mark Catcheside’s shot made it 4-2 before Dean Callum’s goal made it 4-3.

Smith completed his hattrick with two minutes remaining but Joe Hunter pulled another back for Leam to make it 5-4.

Cleator Moor Celtic won 6-0 away at Annfield Plain to move into sixth. The goals came from John Malone, Lee Dunn, Callum Birdsall, Jay Weatherall, with two from Luke Close.
