Marton’s perfect 10 secures victory
North Yorkshire South Durham MARTON had a 10-wicket win at Norton, to record their first victory since promotion back to the Premier League.
They skittled the home side out for just 61, with spinners Faizan Ahmed taking 3-6 and Muhammed Zahid taking a brilliant 5-12 off just 7.1 overs.
In reply, Marton knocked off the runs in just eight overs, for the loss of no wickets, with Jonathan Spillane hitting 6 fours and a six, in his 39 not out, from just 28 balls and Matty Perilli made 22 not out.
North East Premier League TYNEMOUTH had their first win of the season, beating newly-promoted Felling by seven wickets.
Felling batted first and made just 77 all out, with Stuart Walker top-scoring with 39.
An excellent spell of bowling from David Hymers of 8-33 off 15 overs, including five maidens, tore the Felling batting apart.
Sam Dinning then hit 34 to see his side home by three wickets, finishing on 79-3 off 23.3 overs.
Durham Cricket League DURHAM City and Easington played out a very entertaining game, with the visitors winning by just one wicket.
Hosts Durham City batted first and totalled 170, with opener Jacob McCann scoring 74 and Ben Wilson who hammered 60. R Atherton took an excellent 4-11.
Easington then made their target, despite Ian Conn claiming 4-15 and Alan Hutchinson 3-44, when David Tarn scored 33 and Jonathan Ward hit 44.
Northumberland and Tyneside Senior League LINTZ had an excellent seven-wicket win over Ponteland and the visitors bat- Ashington opener Neil Wood in action against Tynedale in the NTSL A1 ted first and scored 119 all out, with Gary Christie taking 4-13 and Nick Young 3-26 and with the bat Hassan Raza hit 39.
When Lintz batted, they knocked off the runs, with Jordan Clennell smashing 64, to win the game comfortably.
Northumberland League ASHINGTON RCC had a comfortable 46-run win over Berwick, with Steven Emery taking 5-28, with Callum Milburn top-scoring with 54.
In their innings, Berwick could only manage to score 96 in reply, with Martin Hush top-scoring with 21.
While Cory Milburn took 3-36, Scott Maddison helped himself to 3-9 and team-mate Dean Greaves also took 3-26.
