My grandson will find it hilarious

THESE OAPS ARE GETTING FAKE TATTOOS TO PRANK THEIR CHILDREN

-

MEET the pensioners who are joining the craze sweeping the North East as they opt for sprayon tattoos.

Vicky McAdam has brought the temporary tattoo trend over from America.

And Geordie lads and lasses are queueing up to get their designer spray-on inks for the weekend – but wash off them before they return to work on Monday.

As more and more trendsetters were desperate to get airbrushed, their offspring were asking mummy and daddy if they could become carbon copies of their parents.

Now it’s the grandparents’ turn to get temp tats to show off their fun side.

Grandmother Lillian Roper, 67, of High Heworth, Gateshead, said: “I got the full spray-on sleeve, it’s all a bit of fun. My husband Eddie was going to get it done but he got cold feet.

“My three daughters all have real tattoos, mainly on their backs and ankles, so I thought it was a good idea to get a sprayon tattoo to see their faces when I go and see them.

“I know they will be surprised and shocked. I have four grandchildren as well, so they will get a shock when I walk in with my tattooed sleeve.

“They are amazing, they look so real. I might get a real one and this is a trial run to see if I like them on a permanent basis. Obviously I won’t get a real full sleeve, but these spray-ons are a laugh.”

Retired school meals supervisor, Lillian, who has daughters Donna, 44, Kerry, 41, and Leanne, 38, added: “I look after my two-year-old grandson, he will find it funny that I have tattoos on my arm.

“It’s a great craze and shows that pensioners have a sense of fun too.”

Seventy-one-year-old Terry Morgan, of Low Fell, was quick to get a temporary tattoo.

He said: “It’s all a bit of a laugh, a bit of a giggle, it equates to a sense of fun. I have got to my age and not had a tattoo before, I suppose I’m a skin virgin, but these spray on tattoos are great.

“Most of my life I have been a local musician playing in various bands. I played at places such as the Broken Doll in New- castle and many of my mates were bikers and covered from head to toe in tattoos. I was the odd one out.”

The retired window cleaner added: “Tattoos used to be for the Navy and Army lads or the builders but over the past decade they have become very popular with the younger trendy generation. There are some wonderful ones out there and they are worn as a bit of statement.

“I’ve got my spray-on tattoo off Vicky and it’s a real hoot, I can’t wait to show it off in my local pub.”

Mum-of-two Vicky, 48, of High Heworth, Gateshead, said: “The airbrush tattoos are such good fun, it’s gone crazy. First it was the young trendies, then their children wanted them and now it’s the pensioners who are jumping on board.

“I never thought it would be such a hit. It’s amazing. They look so real but they wash off. They are fantastic.”

Vicky started out about 10 years ago with painting children’s faces.

She progressed to body paint for adults for promotional work but has now gone one step further.
