Karanka would be good bet

-

Aitor Karanka IT’S a little surprising that Aitor Karanka is still waiting for the chance to get back into football management.

The former Boro boss has been biding his time and waiting for the right club to come along since he parted company with Boro in March.

He was offered the Alaves job but turned down the chance to return to Spain, presumably because he wants to have another crack at managing in England.

Karanka was linked with Garry Monk’s old club Leeds United early in the summer and now, it appears, he was offered the Birmingham City hot seat early last week but turned it down.

The Blues wasted no time in appointing Steve Cotterill in his place.

Naturally Karanka is waiting for the “right job to come along” but the longer he waits, the more difficult it may become.

He doesn’t have the wealth of contacts in this country which he might have in Spain, which would make it easier to find work.

However any club which comes up with an offer in the near future could do a lot worse than handing their future over to Karanka.

He did a sterling job at Boro, building a decent side and taking the club into the Premier League following a seven years gap.

Aitor struggled for results in the top flight but should be a better manager for the experience.
