DAD MAKES EMOTIONAL PLEA TO HIS MISSING SON

-

want to tell him that there’s not a problem that we cannot solve. We have had ups and downs over the years, we have always got by.

“You always used to say ‘I love you dad’. And I love you.

“If there’s a reason why you just want to be away, then please get in touch and let somebody know that you are all right.”

Michael, who would be 33 now and had been living in Oakfield Gardens, Benwell at the time of his disappearance, suffered from mental health problems and was on medication.

Paul regularly visits his son’s house and has kept it exactly as Michael left it.

He added: “I don’t want him to be homeless when he comes back. His house is exactly as he left it.

“But if he doesn’t want to live there and wants to go somewhere instead, we can do that too.

“I just want him home. He’s 33 and he’s vulnerable. He should be with us and I’m going to keep looking for him for as long as I can.”

The heartbroken dad says he thinks about Michael every day and often breaks down in tears.

“I was once in the car and a Tracy Chapman song came on,” he added. “Tracy Chapman was one of his favourites and I just started crying. I couldn’t drive for crying.

“I do cry for him and I will love him till the day I die.”

Michael is 5ft 11in tall, of thin build and it is not known what clothes he was wearing when he went missing.
