CELEB Cheryl’s back in the house

IT’S official: Cheryl is back on the X Factor.

It’s been two years since she last appeared on the show, but now the Geordie pop princess is heading back to the ITV talent contest to help out former boss Simon Cowell.

An official promotional image for the show shows the pair standing proudly side by side, The Mirror reports.

Of course, she won’t be returning to her former seat on the judges panel - where she first met current partner and father of new baby Bear, Liam Payne.

But she will be helping out in the judge’s house stage of the competition, where he’ll have to pick three acts to take on to the finals.

The singer - whose surname is back to Tweedy again, in case you were struggling to keep up - will join the music mogul at a mansion in the South of France.

This is news that may not come as a huge surprise to avid X Factor or Cheryl fans.

The return has been rumoured for some time - and on Friday, a cryptic picture on Instagram seemed to confirm the news.

Hair stylist Daya Ruci shared a picture of recognisable brunette locks, getting glammed up and ready for the camera, asking “guess who?”.

And fans guessed that the camera-ready look and makeup meant she must be filming once again - with judge’s house filming about to start, many were confident they knew what this meant.

Cheryl was a judge on The X Factor from 2008 to 2010, and again in 2014 and 2015.

She also joined the US version in 2011 before being brutally axed just weeks into the series.

Her advice could well prove useful to Simon: Cheryl led two of her acts to victory - Alexandra Burke in 2008 and fellow Geordie Joe McElderry in 2009.
