Pressure on leaders with Town victory

NORTHALLER­TON Town moved to within two points of Division Two leaders Tow Law Town with a 4-2 home win against Chester-le-Street Town.

There were four different scorers for Northaller­ton as Nick Martin’s first-half strike was added to by Colin Anderson, Aaron Ramsbottom and Stephen Cheeseman.

Andrew Clarkson scored a brace for the Cestrians.

Blyth AFC fluffed their chance to take close in on the promotion places as they fell to a surprise 1-0 defeat at bottom-of-the-table Darlington RA.

An Ash Lavan brace and a goal from Gary Redman helped Billingham Town to a comfortabl­e 3-0 home win against West Allotment Celtic.

The three points leave Town in seventh.

Esh Winning came from a goal down to win 3-1 at home against Ryton and Crawcrook Albion.

Dan Kent, Matthew Allison and Daniel Mann got the goals for Esh after Anthony Brown had given Albion a 26th-minute lead.

Paul Kane gave Bedlington Terriers the lead just before half-time at Thornaby.

But his side came away from Teesdale Park empty-handed after goals from Lewis Murphy and Kallum Hannah gave the hosts all three points.

And James Talbot and Ethan Wood were among the scorers as Easington Colliery came away from Brandon United with a hard-earned three points after a 3-2 win.
