Holiday firm gives children a chance of ultimate school trip

-

HOLIDAY company Jet2 has brought a new meaning to “school holiday” – by giving North East youngsters a chance to pack their bags and head on the “ultimate school trip” to Majorca.

The nationwide competition offers nine classes the chance to jet off on a long weekend next April, with an allexpenses-paid holiday to the Sol Katmandu Park and Resort on the Spanish Balearic islands. The children will take part in workshops on science, history, drama and crafts with celebrity hosts during their international break, alongside a VIP send-off from the airport, a welcome dinner as well as a school disco and show.

Five shortlisted schools from each of Jet2’s nine airport regions will scoop prizes of £1,000 worth of equipment vouchers.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “School trips provide many of our best school memories and create some of the most valuable and lasting educational experiences.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and we are looking forward to seeing all the entries.”

A promotional piece of work for the venue will need to provided either as one joint entry from one class or one entry from each pupil within a class. Multiple classes in one school can also apply, but no more than one entry per student or class.

The deadline for entries is 6pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Popular children’s TV presenters, Dick and Dom, will choose the shortlist, which will be announced on Friday, March 2, 2018.

The public will then vote for the winning schools via Jet2holidays’ social media channels with the winners to be announced on March 13, 2018.

To enter the Jet2 competition, post the promotional piece to Ultimate School Trip Competition, c/o Social Media Team, Jet2holidays, The Mint, Sweet Street, Leeds, LS11 9AW or send them by email to USTteam@jet2. com
