Four goals make arguing pointless

-

IT CAN’T be often that a team could lose by four goals and argue they should have taken at least a point.

But that happened to Spennymoor Town as they were well beaten at Leamington.

The hosts started on top and former York City man Kaine Felix almost created the opening goal of the game on four minutes.

He broke down the left and sent a dangerous cross flashing across the face of the Moors goal, although no Leamington player was there to meet the ball.

The Moors had their first real chance on 20 minutes and it fell to the in-form David Foley.

The former South Shields forward was found by Ryan Hall and forced Brakes keeper Tony Breeden into a stunning stop.

The Moors were getting on top when they fell behind against the run of play.

Jordan Porter brought down Joe Clarke in the area and Colby Bishop made no mistake from the penalty spot.

Glen Taylor has established himself as one of the most dangerous strikers in the National League North but he missed a golden opportunity to get the Moors back on level terms. He was played in on goal but could only roll the ball inches wide of the far post.

Bishop grabbed his second of the game six minutes into the second half, before a remarkable spell of play.

Moors skipper Joe Tait saw Brakes keeper Breeden save two of his penalties in the space of six minutes.

Bishop completed a hat-trick with a spot-kick of his own and Kieran Dunbar rounded off the scoring six minutes from time.
