Four hurt after crash at pub’s beer garden
WALL AND PICNIC TABLES SMASHED IN COLLISION
PILES of wood and badly damaged wall can be seen outside a pub where two cars crashed into a beer garden.
Four people were taken to hospital after the incident, at the Tudor Rose in Dunston, Gateshead.
A spokesperson for Northumbria Police and the North East Ambulance Service both said the injuries were minor.
Police, eight ambulances and firefighters from Newcastle and Gateshead were called to the scene on Friday at around 7pm.
Piles of wood from a smashed picnic bench could be seen outside the pub yesterday, and a wall next to the beer garden was badly damaged.
A North East Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “We were called at 7.14pm to reports of a vehicle having entered a beer garden on Collingwood Terrace. We dispatched eight resources and transported four patients to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. All are believed to have minor injuries.”
A Northumbria Police spokes- w woman said there had been no arrests made. After one of their cars appeared t to be involved in the incident, a s spokesperson for Blueline Taxis said they hope anyone who suff fered injuries from the incident makes a quick recovery. They a added: “We are unable to comment on the circumstance pendi ing the outcome of the police investigation.” A spokesperson for the Tudor Rose said police are handling inquiries and are unable to comment further.
