Foxtrot to put best foot forward

-

FOXTROT LADY can make the right moves to get off the mark on her seasonal debut in the Betfred ‘Like Us On Facebook’ Fillies’ Handicap at Salisbury on Sunday.

This half-sister to 2016 Stewards’ Cup winner Dancing Star showed a decent level of form as a juvenile when placed in the last four of her five starts.

Her last run was her best as she was third to Darkanna in the 23-runner Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar in October.

She only went up 3lb for that excellent effort and trainer Andrew Balding should be able to exploit that mark.

There should be no worries on the ground as she has looked to have handled several different conditions already and the track will hold no fears as she was third in a maiden over this distance in August.

Precision can make a victorious return to action in the Betfred ‘City Bowl’ Handicap.

The four-year-old shaped with some promise last year, eventually getting off the mark when landing a 14-furlong handicap at Sandown in August.

That may not have been the strongest contest, but Precision won cosily despite being far too keen in the early stages and he built on that when fourth at Nottingham on what was to be his final start of the campaign.

Beaten two lengths by Dubawi Fifty, who went on to finish fourth in the Cesarewitch and was twice a winner over the winter, Precision did not enjoy much luck in running but kept finding at the finish.

The handicapper nudged him up another 1lb for that result but he starts the year on a very workable mark of 80 and should rank even higher in due course.
