UNDATEABLES star Steve Carruthers, who had been single for nearly a decade before appearing on the show, is now planning to have a baby with his wife.

The besotted couple say “it feels like we fall in love again every day” as they take the next step in their lives together.

Steve, from Sunderland, was born with the genetic condition Crouzon Syndrome, which affects the shape of his head and face.

He signed up for the Channel 4 show after not having a girlfriend in almost 10 years.

While he didn’t find love on the show, Vicky Matthews struck up a Twitter conversation with Steve after watching his episodes.

After a nine-month whirlwind romance, he popped the question and they married two years after they first chatted online.

Steve and Vicky are now planning to start a family and say they are fully aware there is a chance of Steve passing on his condition to any children they have.

“One man even wrote a blog saying that I should be shot for wanting to have kids,” Steve told Closer magazine.

“I was shocked, I don’t understand why people are so horrible.

“Yes, there’s a chance I’ll pass on Crouzon’s, but treatment has advanced a lot since I was younger.”

Steve said Vicky’s job as a children’s nurse will help and they’re both “fully prepared” to accept that their offspring have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the condition.

Steve has also thanked The Undateables show for helping him find happiness, adding: “If it hadn’t been for the show, I’d never have had the courage to meet Vicky in person.

“We’ve been together for nearly five years, but it feels like we fall in love again every day.

“We’re very romantic – I love buying Vicky flowers and we go for long walks in the countryside.”

Steve and Vicky aren’t the only couple who found love off the back of the show.

It has sparked 54 relationships, seven engagements, a total of three weddings to date – and three babies.

The Undateables returns to Channel 4 tomorrow at 9pm. STEVE CARRUTHERS
