STOCKTON were relegated, as they lost at Newcastle.

The home side made 193 all out after deciding to bat first. Thomas Dias reached 48, and Kieran Trevaskis scored 64 from 68 balls, which included seven fours and four sixes.

Joel Thwaites with (4-31) and Hassan Raza (3-66), claimed the bowling honours.

The Teessiders then batted and were all out for 131, thanks to Callum Harding (3-15) and Jacques Do Toit (3-21), despite Joe Hewison scoring 53 runs. SWALWELL were declared champions for 2018, as they made the five points required from their abandoned home game with Ryton.

The visitors had made 30-1 after deciding to bat first, before the heavy rains came and washed out any chance of resuming play.

Ryton were saved from relegation, as the match Lintz were playing in, was also abandoned and they were also saved, as Percy Main lost and were relegated.

Littletown required 23 points to be promoted, but gained just 13, in their home game with Ryhope. However, they did gain promotion, as Evenwood were beaten at home by Dawdon.

The hosts decided to bat first making 167-7 declared, with opening bowler Jonny Errington claiming 4-40, as Greg Arundel top scored with 31.

Ryhope then batted and totalled 145-6, to earn the draw, with Paul Jenkin scoring 40 not out and Scott Lawrence 46, putting on 78 together for the fourth wicket.
