CELEB Christine in line for ITV sofa

-

IT has been known for weeks that Holly Willougby will be leaving the This Morning sofa for the Australian jungle while she co-hosts I’m A Celebrity, but now it seems her replacement is being lined up.

Christine Lampard, who is due to give birth to her first child with husband Frank any day now, is emerging as the frontrunner to keep Phillip Schofield company for six weeks.

It is being reported that ITV bosses are hoping the 39-yearold will cut short maternity leave to join the show.

It is expected that, if she agrees, Christine will share the role with another presenter to partner Phil.

One insider told the Mirror: “Christine is the natural first choice because she and Phil work so well together both on and off screen.”

Holly is taking a break from the ITV daytime show to stand in for Ant McPartlin, who has taken a year off work to deal with his addiction issues.

She will co-present from the jungle alongside new dad Declan Donnelly, whose daughter Isla arrived this month.

Schofield, 56, told last year how he and wife Steph, Holly and husband Dan Baldwin and Christine and football star Frank often socialise.

“What I want everyone to realise is, not only is she an incredibly accomplished broadcaster, but one of the nicest people I have ever met in my life,” he said of Christine.

In recent years she has been a regular panellist on ITV’s Loose Women and guest presenter of morning show Lorraine. Holly Willoughby will host I’m A Celebrity with Declan Donnelly
