Stocksfiel­d make it a trying day for Rugby

IN THE Northumber­land and Tyneside Cricket League, Stocksfiel­d had an easy nine-wicket win over

Ashington Rugby with the visitors all out for just 61.

Chris Scandle claimed a brilliant 6-1 and then Ryan Chamberlai­n took 3-12.

Luke Doneathy then hit 35 not out to see Stocksfiel­d home on 63-1.

Alnwick made a quick start at home to Blaydon, but lost wickets at the same time.

Jamie Guy made 49, while Mark Cawthorn took 3-31 and Jordan Baines 3-33 with the ball and they totalled 187 all out.

The visitors then lost regular wickets on 90-6 and Max Williamson cleaned the tail up with 4-4 and they were all out for 96.

Morpeth made a solid start at Newcastle City, with opener Jack Travers scoring 30, then Liam Day made 80, while Ethan Deal made a brilliant 173 from 93 balls, which included 12 fours and 16 sixes, in a mammoth score of 369-6.

City then had Omar Ahmed in good form as he made 114 not out and Shahid Khan 35 not out they were on 184-3 at the time of going to press.

Washington’s Ludo Williams made a brilliant score of 117 from 110 balls, which included 18 fours, at Ponteland in their total of 247-7.

The hosts then made a positive start with Intisaar

Fazal scoring 34 and were on 118-4, at the time of going to press.

Chris Younger was in good form for Swalwell at home to Annfield Plain, as he scored 50 and then Chris Mann added 54, and then Ross Sinclair added 30 in their score of

222-7.

The visitors made a slow start and were on 74-4 at the time of going to press.

Alnmouth & Lesbury made a good start at Whickham, with Laurie Robson making 85 not out, Jonathan Ridely 72 and Tom Vickers 31 in their final total of 271-7.

The home side then lost early wickets, as Alex Mullens claimed 4-42 and were on

109-6 at the time of going to press.
