Goffy taking to airwaves today for lunctime slot

-

RENOWNED radio presenter Paul ‘Goffy’ Gough is set to take to the airwaves on his new radio show today.

The personality is taking over the 12-2pm Sunday lunchtime slot on BBC Tees from Mother’s Day.

He takes over from Ken Snowdon, who has been hosting the programme for the past 20 years on the station that covers Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire. Goffy said: “I am really looking forward to getting on the radio this Sunday. I have had a load of fun on BBC Tees for the past four years with my Saturday lunchtime show, and to now present this second show every week is brilliant news for me.

“The feedback in those four years has been terrific, and I really appreciate the many that tune in for the live, local fun on the air.”

Goffy says his show will feature local memories, characters, humour and – most importantly – the fantastic music that has been a big part of his life.

He added: “I have witnessed firsthand what makes local people tick regarding music, and this is a real bonus to bring to my shows on the station. “Sunday lunchtime is a great slot to have, as it will evoke many memories for listeners when mam was in the kitchen cooking Sunday dinner and life was not so hectic.”

Goffy can be heard on BBC Tees on Saturdays and Sundays 12-2pm. Paul ‘Goffy’ Gough
