WELL-WISHERS RAISE THOUSANDS FOR MILO

- By Michael Muncaster Reporter michael.muncaster@trinitymirror.com

WELL-WISHERS have raised thousands of pounds for the family of a little boy after thieves ransacked their home.

Raiders broke in through a window of the Milo Browne’s North Shields home, stealing valuable items and damaging irreplaceable mementoes.

Four-year-old Milo has a complex medical condition that is so unique there is no diagnosis as it has never been seen before.

Now, friends and family have rallied around the youngster - raising more than £3,000 to replace the items.

Dad Stephen Browne, 31, said: “We are completely speechless from the support everyone has giving us.

“We have the most important thing and that is Milo is still here. This will be a memory we will never get over but it will not stop us from continuing what we do. Milo laughed as if to say this is nothing. He won’t be beaten. Milo will change lives like he has done already.

“I just want our home safe for our family and for them to feel safe. Thank you everyone so much.”

Thieves broke into the family’s home in the early hours of March 16.

They raided Milo’s sensory room – which his family raised £19,000 to have built to help their son relax – before ransacking the rest of the house.

Milo suffers from a rare condition known only as M3BHA, which has only ever affected around eight other people in the world. His condition is even more complex and medics believe it is a miracle that he is alive today.

Doctors have dubbed his illness as ‘Milo’s Condition’ because they have never seen anything like it before.

The youngster needs 24/7 care from his parents and will never have the ability to crawl, stand or walk.

Stephen and partner Laura Davidson, 32, who have two other children, Mia, nine, and five-year-old Felix, were not home at the time of the raid.

They were staying in temporary accommodation while North Tyneside Council was installing a new wet room.

Northumbria Police is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident.

Anyone with information should call Northumbria Police on 101, quoting reference number 240 of 16/03/17.
