Man admits burglary at restaurant
A SECOND thief has admitted his part in the burglary of a popular seaside restaurant.
Paul Thompson had already pleaded guilty to breaking into Riley’s Fish Shack, in Tynemouth, in January and stealing £850 worth of goods.
But his co-accused, Anthony Farman, denied the burglary and his case was listed for trial at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court last week.
However, the 35-year-old has now changed his plea to guilty.
Thompson, 38, of Upper Penman Court, North Shields was given an 18-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to pay £525 compensation.
Farman, of Waldo Street, North Shields, has now had his case sent to Newcastle Crown Court for sentence and has been released on conditional bail until he appears there on April 10.
