Quakers’ comeback

-

A goal six minutes into stoppage time earned Darlington a valuable point.

Quakers were 3-1 down midway through the second half, but once again they showed their character and keep their play off campaign on track.

They seemed to be on course for a routine win after 11 minutes, Mark Beck outjumping the defence as the keeper came out, and the ball landed in the net.

Gainsborough levelled on 34 minutes, when a free-kick came over from the right from Greg Tempest, and Matt Wilson headed past debutant keeper Adam Bartlett, and a minute later Ashley Worsfold ran clear and poked the ball past the stranded keeper.

Quakers rolled up their sleeves and got back into the game on 75 minutes, when sub Josh Gillies crossed into the box, and Syers headed in. And Quakers pressure paid off in the sixth minute of stoppage time when Falkingham crossed and the ball bounced off a defender before Syers knocked it in.
