Gazza ‘hit’ in flat spat
NORTH East football legend Paul Gascoigne reportedly got into a confrontation after becoming suspicious of two people he saw by a nearby flat.
The former Newcastle and Middlesbrough player was allegedly punched after confronting two people he suspected of breaking in to a neighbour’s home, The Mirror reports.
The incident is alleged to have happened on Easter Monday in Poole, Dorset.
Gazza is said to have fallen and injured his wrist and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.
A Dorset Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a burglary. However no offences were identified.”
Gazza has battled alcoholism and mental health issues since retiring 13 years ago.
