Win secures advantage in play-offs challenge

-

SECOND-PLACED Spennymoor Town beat mid-table Barwell 2-0 at The Brewery Field, cementing their runnerup spot and ensuring home advantage in the play-offs.

After a goalless first half, in which neither team created any chances, Spennymoor had a corner, which Joseph Tait headed on for Graeme Armstrong to fire in from just six yards, for a 53rd-minute opener.

Two minutes later, it was 2-0 when Armstrong found Jamie Chandler free on the edge of the box, for him to beat goalkeeper Liam Castle with ease.
