Thrilled Jamie through to BGT semis

Showbiz Reporter WE’LL be seeing more of Low Fell’s Jamie Lee Harrison on screen next week as he’s made the Britain’s Got Talent semi finals.

After an agonising wait, the 24 year old musician was given the news he’d been hoping for after lining up with four fellow hopefuls to see if he’s made it through to the live rounds.

Former Lord Lawson pupil Jamie gave himself every chance of securing a spot in the semis after a fine audition which saw his rendition of REM’s Everybody Hurts bring both the judges and the Blackpool audience to their feet.

And he obviously made a big impression on Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams as they put him through to the next stages of the ITV contest, but not before David played a huge trick on him, Tokio Myers, Jonny Awsum and Teesside dance duo Grace & Ali.

The former Little Britain star told them they were “a maybe” before putting them out of their misery and saying he was only joking.

We then saw Jamie rush outside to tell his mam Julia that he’d made it to lives, with her reacting “brilliant, brilliant, brilliant Jamie!”

And now the news has sunk in a bit, Jamie is gearing up to go one better by reaching the grand final next Saturday and get one step closer to performing for the Royal Family at the 2017 Royal Variety Performance.

He says he’s got plenty more left in the tank too.

“After watching my audition back properly I think I could have done it better,” he admits.

“I couldn’t actually remember a lot of what happened on the day but I could have done more with the song vocally so now I’m in the lives I really want to show what I can do.

“Everyone has been so supportive, particularly my mam, she’s dead excited to come down to London to watch me.”

We can’t yet reveal what night Jamie will be on ITV in his semi final or what he’ll be singing but he did say although he’s really happy with his song choice he’s got some stiff competition if he is to make the big finale. Tokio Myers, Jonny Awsum, Grace and Ali and Jamie Lee Harrison find out they’ve made the BGT semi finals
