Angela’s BBC tumour help

A BRAIN tumour survivor will open up about her battle with the life-threatenin­g disease on national TV today.

Angela Conway is to appear on BBC One’s Lifelineat 5pm to highlight The Brain Tumour Charity.

Two years ago Angela underwent surgery at Newcastle’s RVI to remove most of the tumour.

And as she recovered, the 28-year-old started blogging and campaignin­g to make more people aware.

Viewers will see Angela, of Ashington, Northumber­land, share her experience­s in a bid to help Angela Conway other. The programme is presented by Olympic diver Tom Daley, who lost his father Rob to a brain tumour in 2011.

Angela said: “I’m so proud to be involved and it’s a great opportunit­y to be on TV raising aware- ness. It is important people are aware of the symptoms and if they are diagnosed early then it can save lives.”

Angela was diagnosed with a low grade astrocytom­a while she was in her final year at Edinburgh University aged 21.

Angela, who works for Newcastle’s Orange Bus digital agency, said: “During my recovery, I was at home and away from work so started blogging to help others going through the same thing.

“I spoke to The Brain Tumour Charity and they started posting about me, and my blog last year had over 30,000 views.”
