Bradley Lowery and mum Gemma at his sixth birthday party BRADLEY Lowery’s devastated mum Gemma has given an emotional tribute to her little boy, saying she misses waking up to his smile.

The brave six-year-old lost his battle with childhood cancer neuroblastoma last month.

The little lad from Blackhall Colliery became a national treasure with people across the country taking him into their hearts.

And his mum Gemma made a heartbreaking tribute to him on her Facebook page on Saturday.

She said: “I miss waking up to his smile and sound of his giggles. I miss his little innocent voice saying I love you mammy.

“I miss his soft touch when he stroked my face and I miss his tight squeeze when he cuddled me so hard.

“I miss our little conversations we had about everything and nothing and I miss the ‘why mammy, but why mammy’ after every question.”

Gemma said she is now working hard to get the Bradley Lowery Foundation set up as a charity.

The foundation has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds which will be spent on other children fighting cancer.

It will also help with fundraising campaigns and will offer support to families.

Gemma said: “I’m working hard getting the charity up and running - one to keep my mind busy and two so I can try and help other children to live a long happy healthy life, because that is what Bradley would want.

“Thank you to all that is supporting us in our mission.”

Bradley passed away on July 7. Following his death thousands of people paid tribute to him, with people lining the streets at his funeral.

The Sunderland AFC supporter will be remembered as the boy who united football.

Clubs and fans across the country showed their love for the youngster including Newcastle United and Everton.
