Hunt on for PO raiders
TWO men armed with axes forced their way into a Post Office with a crowbar.
Police are investigating the incident at the shop in Peterlee but the culprits are yet to be caught.
The robbers forced their way into the post office on York Road at around 9.30am on Friday before fleeing in a Black Peugeot 307.
On leaving the shop, the men threw a weapon at the post office van parked outside and headed towards the nearby industrial estate.
It is unknown if anything has been taken at this time.
A hunt is now on to catch the suspects who are both around 5ft 10ins, wearing black balaclavas and dark clothing.Police said:
“Anyone with any information should contact Durham Constabulary on 101.”
