Shearer’s Tyneside tribute on phone

-

NEWCASTLE United legend Alan Shearer will forever be synonymous with Tyneside.

The Magpies’ famous number nine is the club’s record goalscorer and is adored by fans who saw him play at St James’ Park.

Now, Shearer has revealed he takes his beloved city with him wherever he goes – on his phone.

Appearing on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, on BBC1 last night, viewers saw the former England captain take part in the Send to All game.

It sees McIntyre steal a celebrity’s phone to send an awkward text to all of their contacts, reading out their humorous replies at the end of the show.

Projecting Shearer’s phone on the big screen, it was unveiled that the Match of the Day pundit’s screensaver is a picture of the Tyne Bridge.

McIntyre jokingly asked Shearer: “Did you put that on just for today?”

But he replied: “No, it is always on there.”

McIntyre went through Shearer’s phone apps before having a look through pictures he had taken on his phone.

Back for a third series, McIntyre’s award-winning show features a variety of musical performances, games and, of course, what he is best known for – stand-up comedy. Alan Shearer
