DARLINGTON missed several chances which cost them victory against Nuneaton at Blackwell Meadows.

Even though they were playing their second game in 48 hours, Quakers were the better team, but they couldn’t take their chances in front of goal; however, they have still lost only twice in the last 15.

They nearly took the lead after 4 minutes when David Syers volleyed a right-wing cross from Stephen Thompson just over the bar, then Reece Styche volleyed over from 12 yards when he was unmarked.

Thompson was then unlucky to see a dipping volley drop just over the bar from the edge of the box, and then when he broke through again a few minutes later, Nuneaton keeper Ross Etheridge touched his low shot
