I’m a Celebrity queen all set for Great North Run

to South Shields. The 30-year-old said: “If you are from the North East and a bit crackers, it’s definitely one of those things you have to do.

“You grow up with the Great North Run. I’d not been home for months and as you drive across the Tyne Bridge, I got goosebumps at seeing the banner.

“It’s meant to be an amazing day, I’m scared but excited!

“I know it’s around the 9-10 mile mark you just want to stop. But I’m not putting any pressure on myself, I’m not a profession­al athlete and hopefully I won’t get stretchere­d off after three miles.”

Vicky’s last race was a fun run four years ago for the Sunshine Fund, where the TV personalit­y dressed as a banana for the 5km course along the Quayside.

The prospect of taking on the Great North Run this time round alongside her mum was too “appealing” to turn down.

Vicky said: “That run was great fun but I did struggle with it. I’ve had a bit of an up and down summer and didn’t focus as much on my training as I would like.

“I’ve got my head down the last six weeks though. I feel confident, I feel I’m not going to embarrass myself.
