Man held in probe

A MAN was arrested after an armed police incident at The Royal Oak pub, in Stockton .

A large 999 response went to the pub on High Street, in the centre of the town, shortly after 7pm on Wednesday and man was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill.

A police social media post read: “Armed Response Vehicles were dispatched to an incident outside The Royal Oak, in Stockton, one adult male was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill.”

Cleveland Police said: “Police were called to a pub on Stockton High Street at around 6.40pm last night, Wednesday, September 5, to a report of a male believed to possibly be in possession of a weapon.

“A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and he currently remains in custody.”
