Cinema bosses have revealed the opening date for a new multiplex as part of the £45million expansion of a popular shopping and leisure complex.

Cine world has confirmed its latest complex will open at Dalton Park on Friday, September 9, creating 30 jobs.

The cinema will feature seven screens and a total of 1,000 seats.

The venue is part of the phase two extension to the shopping outlet and will join the newly opened Pizza Express, Frankie and Benny’s and a KFC drive-thru, which has created 50 jobs,

Prezzo, which is in the process of recruiting 10 staff members, is due to open within days.

A question mark remains over the supermarket unit, which has been leased to Morrisons, with a 25-year deal signed for the building.

The firm has said it is carrying out a review of its new store formats.

Nick Bashford, Cineworld Dalton Park’s general manager, said the multiplex would deliver crystal-clear images and featured a powerful digital sound system which were “perfect to watch Ben Hur or Bridget Jones’s Baby – two of September’s biggest titles”.

He said: “We’re delighted about the opening of Cineworld Dalton Park. We have such an exciting line-up of films coming up, like Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find The man d Stars Wars: Rogue One.”

A range of offers include juniors screenings for just £2 on Saturdays, Sundays and during school holidays.

Tickets for Cine world Dalton Park go on sale from Friday, August 26.
