Redby Community Centre has vacancies on some mornings and evenings. Anyone wishing to start a group, ring 5484515 or call in and ask for Norma. The summer holiday club started on Monday, July 25, for children aged four to 11. This club will be on every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for four weeks. A Fulwell ward surgery will be held in Fulwell Library, Dene Lane, on Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am when ward Councillor Howe or Councillor Francis and Councillor Beck will be in attendance.

Sainsbury’s Fulwell raised nearly £4,300 for Pawz for Thought last year’s charity of the year. They would like to thank Pawz for Thought and customers for all their hard work raising that amount of money. This year’s charity has been chosen which is Sunderland Carer Centres (young carers).

Sunderland North Business Centre runs free play sessions for children aged eight to 10. Sessions are held at the Seaburn Centre on Fridays from 4pm to 5.30pm. Sessions are also held for young people aged 11 to 19 at the Seaburn Centre on Wednesdays from 7pm to 9pm. Other sessions for 11 to 19-year-olds at Monkwearmo­uth Academy on Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm.

A tea dance is held in the Seaburn Centre on Thursdays from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Sessions include modern and sequence dancing with Jean and Johnny.

During the summer months Sunderland Volunteer Life Brigade Watch House Museum will be open every Sunday from noon to 4pm and admission is free. For further informatio­n, visit www.sunderland­vlb. com.

Sunderland Lifeboat Associatio­n will be holding an open day on Sunday from 10.30am to 2.30pm.
