Cummings, Anderson in twoway fight for Plains Farm title

Tony Cummings and Scott Anderson will now battle for the Plains Farm Premier League title after both earned excellent victories in their respective games this week.

Cummings went back to the top of the table after two victories against “Steptoe” Vince Loraine and Jon McDowall.

Firstly, in a close contest against Loraine, Cummings won a last-leg decider to take a 7-5 win, with 20 and 21-dart legs, a superb 108 checkout and a 180.

Loraine responded with 20 and 21-dart legs.

Cummings later defeated McDowall 7-3, with 20 and 21-dart legs, plus another 180, while McDowall hit a 19-dart leg among his three successes.

Scott Anderson guaranteed at least second place in the table with a dominant 7-1 over third-placed “Snake Bite” Bobby Turnbull.

He hit two 18-dart legs, a 19-darter and two 20-dart winning legs, as well as posting a 180.

Loraine had better luck in his second match of the night, defeating Anth Charlton 7-4 with four 21-dart legs.

Charlton’s miserable night was completed by another defeat, this time losing 7-1 to Andy Lincoln, who hit a 17-darter and a 21-dart leg.

Kev Turner handed out a 7-0 whitewash to Stevie Gettins, with legs in 15, 16 and 20 darts, plusa fantastic 114 checkout.

Neil Hardy handed “Taffy” Dean Parker a 7-4 loss, hitting a 21-dart leg and a 100 checkout, while Parker mnanaged a 20-dart leg.

Parker would also battle from 6-4 down to draw 6-6 in a close-fought clash with Jon McDowall, hitting 19 and 21 (x2) winning legs, while McDowall had 18 and 19-darters.

Shaun Turnbull and brother Liam also battled to a 6-6 draw, with Shaun hitting a 17-dart leg, and Liam responding with a 21-darter.
