A Millfield blues musician has hit the Top 10 in America’s famous billboard chart.

Trevor Sewell features alongside Dan Aykroyd, Julian Lennon and Kathy Sledge from Sister Sledge on spoken word album Action Moves People United, which aims to promote world peace.

Launched in conjunction with UNESCO USA, the album hit the top ten in its first week of release and features musicians and artists from across the globe.

Trevor, who is well known on the blues circuit, has already had considerable success across the pond and says he was delighted to be asked to work on the project.

He said: “The producers have done an amazing job of bringing together and pairing up a huge list of people who have collaborated from locations around the world.

“I personally collaborated with Lisa Sniderman, a very talented artist hailing from San Francisco with a track called Blue Gold and also appear on a track from Grammy nominee Linda Chorney featuring Dan Aykroyd and Kathy Sledge among a plethora of fantastic musicians.”

Speaking about how the collaboration came about, Trevor said: “It all came about when I bumped into Grammy-winning producer Kevin Mackie in Los Angeles earlier this year and he invited me to take part. I didn’t have to think twice and jumped at the opportunity as I think it’s a fantastic project for a great cause.”

Despite living in Sunderland, Trevor has won a legion of fans for his American sound.

Earlier this year the singer, song-writer and producer was asked to perform at a major pre-Grammy event and as part of that attended the glittering main ceremony.

In recent years, he’s also won gongs at the Hollywood Music In Media Awards in 2011 and 2013, the Artists In Music Awards in 2012 and 2013 and Indie Music Channel Awards (Hollywood) in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

Action Moves People United (AMPU) is a world peace project produced by Grammy winner Kevin Mackie, awardwinning producer Krista Wall-hagen and Guinness World Record holder musician and award-winning filmmaker Rupam Sarmah.

Through media initiatives, in collaboration with artists, authors, and organizations from all around the world, AMPU’s mission of establishing a peaceful planet and a healthy biosphere is an ongoing commitment.

One of the goals for the project was to pair up artists who live in opposing countries for collaborations that go beyond politics, religion and borders.

The team has produced a

musical spoken word album that exchanges ideas, stories, and information focused on bringing about world peace through individual responsibility, education and helping each other. The goal of the project is to raise awareness of environmental and humanitarian crisis and find actionable solutions.

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation) strives to promote peace and security among nations through education, science, and culture.

Dan Aykroyd added “I pray for the moment of mass consciousness when we all wake up and bring peace into our own hearts and souls. It’s a challenge and it’s going to take every one of us to make it happen”.

The double CD album with 45 tracks of Musical Spoken Word is available for digital download on iTunes, Amazon, and other stores worldwide. Visit the site for details at www.ActionMovesPeopleUnited.org
