Myers off mark at last as Thompson double sinks Ashbrooke
Myers finally grabbed their first Premier Division win of the season, edging home 4-3 in a close game against The Ashbrooke.
Steven Thompson impressively led the way for Myers, scoring twice, with Gavin Nesbitt and Liam Richardson also netting.
The Ashbrooke had Neal Atkinson’s brace and a beauty from Peter Greenwell, but it wasn’t enough.
Southwick again made waves with a brilliant 5-0 win at RCA Grangetown Florists.

Farringdon ISL bounced back from the previous week’s disappointing effort to secure an easy 3-0 win over O’Brien Waste Recycling.
Paul Kane, Luke Richardson and Richard Maughan did the damage, with Jordan Thompson outstanding throughout. Michael Parkin was O’Brien’s best player
Leaders TS Potters dropped their first points of the season in a 4-4 draw at Ryhope Foresters.
David Halliday, John Coomber, David Keithley and Joe Walton found the net for Potters, with Danny Martin star man.
Foresters stood their ground and took a point when Peter Benson, Dale Spence, Kieran Davies and Anthony Young all scored.
Farringdon Detached keep themselves in touch with the leading pack, thanks to an impressive 4-1 triumph at Silksworth Paragon.
Jake Baker, David Stevens, Sean Archbold and Jordan Wolfendale put Silky to the sword. Luke Sanders hit a great solo goal for the hosts, but the game was already out of sight. Lewis Lynn starred for Paragon, with Josh Tuckwell best for Farra.
Thorney Close Inn could have secured a late share of the points against Redhouse Last Orders, but keeper Martin Jackson saw his penalty hit the post – as the visitors edged home 3-2 in Division One.
David Robinson and Kyle Gibson scored for Thorney earlier in the game, but Last Orders won it with strikes from Marc McNulty, Norman Newton and Andrew Arnold.
Jordan Stewart starred for Redhouse.
Martin Hope was once again the main man, firing a hat-trick as Victoria Gardens beat Oddies 6-3.
Callum Hope was man of the match for his midfield work, capped by another brace and a few assists.
Oddies replied when Daz Green’s double continued his scoring streak, and Alex Herring hit their third, but Kevin Humble ensured Victoria’s victory.
Andy Smith was Oddies’ top performer.
Goals from Michael Jepson and Stuart Lawrence had Willow Pond cruising at 2-0, but it all went pear-shaped as The Royal Marine rallied to secure a 2-2 draw, thanks to Aidan Raeburn and Marc Collins.
Josh McGill starred for Marine, with Chris Brown best for Willow.
TC Plastics claimed another win to stay in the promotion hunt, beating The Stumble Inn 4-1.
Paul Stokoe’s brace got them underway early on, but Stumble Inn hit back and ason Alexander reduced the deficit.
TC Plastics, though, finished the game off with strikes from Kieron Stokoe and Dylan Oxberry. Andrew Morris starred, with Corey Steel best for Stumble.
Ryhope Top House produced a major shock iwith a dominant performance in a stunning 5-1 triumph at Ashbrooke Sports Club.
Paul Brooke started the scoring with a tidy double and Craig Vincent made it 3-0.
Ashbrooke pulled one back, John Hope-Hindmarsh netting with a thunderbolt, but it was in vain as further goals from Mark Slee and Josh Winthrop finished the hosts off.
Ryan Wood shone for Top House, with Graham Swinney top man for Ashbrooke.
Doubles from Adam Frame and star man Gareth Murray extended The Lansdowne’s unbeaten league run with a 4-3 success against the muchfancied Board Inn.
Star performer Sam Wigham hit a brace and Jack Lloyd also netted, but Board just fell short.
