LOVE: WE CAN BEAT FOXES

SUNDERLAND YOUNGSTER BELIEVES ALL THE INGREDIENTS ARE THERE TO DEFEAT LEICESTER

Donald Love hopes a combination of a noisy Stadium of Light and a weakened Leicester will be key ingredients for a vital Sunderland win.

The Black Cats defender/ midfielder feels the absence of Danny Drinkwater from the Foxes side will improve the chances of beating the Premier League champions today.

Drinkwater is serving the second instalment of a threematch ban after accepting a Football Association charge of violent conduct following an elbow on Valon Behrami at Watford last month.

With Sunderland seemingly turning a corner over the last three games, wins over Bournemouth and Hull plus a brave effort at Liverpool, Love says they have three points in their sights.

“We now want to push on from that performance and go and beat Leicester,” he said.

“They have not had a great season in the league and have Danny Drinkwater suspended, he’ll be a big miss for them.

“We are at the Stadium of Light with our fans behind us so I think it can be another home win.”

Love, who has been in the Premier League squad 10 times this season, says David Moyes’s side have found their form.

“I think we were playing well anyway, but we’d been a bit unlucky not to get a couple of results before we did,” said the 21-year-old.

“It’s coming now, how we want to play.

“I thought we were unlucky at the weekend not to come away with anything at Liverpool.

“We’ll now push on and look to get the win today.”

Sunderland produced a tremendous display at Anfield, where Love watched in admiration from the bench.

“I thought it was very good, we kept them out until the 76th minute,” he said.

“They are an excellent team and I thought we were unlucky, we were in it all the way through.

“You look at some teams have gone there and conceded fives and sixes, but we lost 2-0 and the second was a penalty in injury time when we were pushing for an equaliser.”
