A flaming good science event

-

College staff helped bring science to life for youngsters at a Wearside primary school.

The children at Holley Park Academy all enjoyed being involved in an exciting science week, which was supported by staff at Sunderland College.

To begin the week the children enjoyed a science assembly which included bubbles being turned into fire and how to use air to make ping pong balls fly.

Victoria Kelters, science co-ordinator at the school, said: “The children were all so inspired by this they created their own science projects at home and brought them into school to share with their peers and explain how they work.

“At school children created class science projects and researched different scientists.”

There was a competition for the best science projects and at the end of the week each child took part in science activities including making their own slime.
